Earth Day Contest

Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by theEarth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.

It was announced in 2008 that it would continue on Melbourne Cup Day in 2008 and 2009. Mr. Andrew Barr, the ACTMinister for Industrial Relations stated the purpose of the new public holiday was:

"...to enable workers to take a break from their hectic working lives and to spend some quality time with their family and friends.

Art Festival

The first edition took place in the year 1993 in the town of Stacze to Hawaii . At the very beginning it was an informal gathering of people organizing the tour the band No Longer Music . It was present 80 people. In the next year the event was held in the amphitheaterFortress "Boyen" in Giżycko . In subsequent years, systematically recorded an increase in the number of participants. In the year 2001 Slot Art Festival decided to move to Lubiąż , where the former palace of the Cistercian Abbey , is done up to now and collects every year around 5 000 participants. It is organized by the Association of Local Creative Centres.
